1. Is an ebike for me?

An electric bicycle (ebike) is for anyone looking for alternative eco friendly transportation, or to get back into bicycle riding again. An electric bicycle is perfect for short distance commuting. Electric bicycles are also very fun to ride. Pedaling is optional ! You can save a lot of money by commuting to work or school and not have to pay for gas. If you are looking for a really fun hobby ebiking is it!

2. How can I order?

You can order directly from our website via PayPal. PayPal is secure and accepts all major credit cards and tracks each order.

3. How far can I go on a battery charge?

30 miles is generally the maximum range customers get under ideal conditions. There are certain factors that apply when it come to range. It all depends on your riding style (throttle usage) and weight of the rider. We offer both 48 volt and 36 volt battery options with higher capacity for longer distance rides. Order a second battery and you can double your range. Simply swap them out. Included with each bike we sell is a battery distance chart showing how far and fast you can go on a charge.

4. How long is the battery charging time?

3-4 hours if you completely drain the battery. The shorter the trip, the less charge time.

5. Can I use 36 or 48 volt battery packs with the MT-6?

Yes, our electric bicycles are compatible with both 36 volt and 48 volt battery packs. You can order additional battery packs for your bike at anytime from our website. 

6. What's the difference between the 36 volt and 48 volt battery packs?

Generally 36 volt battery packs will get riders a max speed of 20 mph. A 48 volt battery will give riders a boost with a max speed of 25 mph. Speed and distance mostly depends on weight of rider and riding style (throttle usage). The 48 volt battery pack will also get you a little more distance than 36 volt. A 48 volt battery is also better when you commute on streets with heavy traffic.

7. What is the advantage of your ebikes compared to other ebikes out there?

Buying an electric bicycle is a big decision and you want to choose the right ebike with the highest value. The electric bicycles we sell have been tested before being shipped out. This helps gives our customers piece of mind and ensures that they are getting well made electric bicycle that runs exactly as it should. 

Most of our online competitors do not test their electric bicycles. Often times their bikes come strait from the factory in China, sit in a warehouse, and are prone to problems (mostly battery related).  We sometimes get calls from people who have problems with electric bicycles they have purchased from another company. Unfortunately, we cannot help them because it is not our design. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

8. Why ride an ebike instead of a regular bicycle?

Their is a significant advantage to riding an electric bike over a regular bike. You can either pedal the entire time and be sweaty using regular bicycle, or pedal a little, or cruise on electricity and feel great.. You can cut your commuting time in half by riding an electric bike. Pedaling is optional with ebikes. You can still get exercise on an electric bike pedaling as much or as little as you wish. Riding full electric is a so much fun too!

9. How "Green" is an ebike?

An electric bicycle is one of the most energy efficient means of transportation on the planet. It costs around $0.05 in electricity to charge the battery to ride 20-30 miles. We base this off current ComEd electricity rates. No gas is needed, no oil needed, and no pollution is released into the atmosphere. No nasty smells of gas engines either. An electric bike is even more efficient that a regular bike, we detailed why in our Why Electric? section.

10. Is an ebike street legal?

Yes, as long as it has working pedals, motor is under 750 watts. The rider must be 16 years old in Illinois. Check with your local municipality for any further laws. It is the riders responsibility to follow any new and all electric bike laws in the area they ride. Here is a link to the laws

11. What is the delivery time?

Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for orders. This is mostly due to battery testing. The wait time depends on inventory, demand, and shipping /delivery distance of the customer. We keep in close contact with our customers and keep them informed of their order and delivery status.

12. Is there any maintenance I will need to do?

Just normal routine bicycle related maintenance like checking air tire pressure, lubricated chain, gear and brake adjustments, etc is the responsibility of the owner. A flat tire and other bike related adjustments can be changed by the rider or at a local bicycle shop. Make sure keep the battery charged, and always recharge after riding. This helps keep the battery fresh and extends the life cycle.

13. Can I ride in the rain?

Rain is not a problem because the electric components are sealed. Just make sure to wipe down the bike to prevent rusting.

14. Can I modify the bike or make changes?

We advise our customers not to modify electrical components. This voids the warranty and can be hazardous. Customers can add other items to their bikes like baskets, lights, etc.

15. What if I need repairs in the future?

After the warranty period has expired we are still able to help. We have individual parts on hand. If a part needs to be replaced the customer will have to cover the cost of the replacement part. We work directly with our customers to make sure they can get back to riding again as quickly as possible. Just shoot us an email.

16. Where can go to test ride your electric bicycles?

At this time we only sell online. We do have 14 day return policy so that customers can experience if the bike is right for them. This gives customers piece of mind knowing the bike works great and they can either keep it or return it. The video on our main page sums up the electric bicycle experience and how fun it is to ride.

17. What is the warranty/return policy?

We offer a 14 day return policy on our electric bikes. This gives customers enough time to experience that the bike and what it can do. The customer can then make a decision to keep the bike or not. The bike must be returned in good working condition with no damages.  We work with the customer to get them the part they might need to replace. We also offer a 6 month warranty on electric components, and a 2 year factory warranty on battery packs (excluding any damaged or shorted packs). After the warranty period we can sell our customers replacement parts if needed.

18. Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally. Shipping to Europe and Japan is an additional $500 and takes 4 weeks for delivery. This is the international freight shipping cost and time for the size and weight of our bikes. Any import duties will have to be paid by the buyer.
